Ruto Threatens to Block Poll Body

William Ruto is threatening to marshall MPs to shoot down the candidates proposed to fill the IEBC posts. The bone of contention has been how the 44 candidates were shortlisted leaving out some who are in the current IIEC. According to the IEBC Act 2011, if those proposed are rejected, they can only be replaced by others who were shortlisted and interviewed. The Act also prevents MPs from dissolving the Select Panel as it says it will only be dissolved after the IEBC commissioners are appointed.
